ShelterBox Founder and CEO, Tom Henderson OBE, has been speaking at a seminar on Global Cooperation for Disaster Management in Seoul, Korea, alongside other leading disaster experts from Japan, Korea and the USA.
The five-day symposium, organised by the prestigious Korea Foundation, brought together disaster specialists from 15 countries around the world. The experts discussed global and regional mechanisms for crisis management to respond to large scale catastrophes.
Tom Henderson was honoured to be invited as the only non-governmental organisation representative and as a leading disaster relief expert. He delivered lectures and led workshops on a range of operational issues, such as ‘logistics in disasters’.
‘I feel very privileged to be taking part in these discussions,’ said Tom. ‘ShelterBox has demonstrated over the years its specialist knowledge and its commitment to providing an immediate, quality disaster relief package.’
‘We could not do this without strong collaboration with a range of partners. I truly believe that global cooperation enables us to meet the needs of families who have lost everything in the most effective way possible.’
ShelterBox has distributed over 100,000 ShelterBoxes, providing emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters
