It's a sobering exercise to write down how 
many different sorts of storage media you have in your home and office. Whilst most larger companies probably have some sort of process and a range of tools to ensure that they do not miss vital data, smaller business and individuals often lack proper backup processes.
Just make a list of how many differnt storage media you currently use in your private life and note how much data is stored on each. For many this list will now include:
- Computer internal hard drives; Network drives; USB hard drives;
- USB sticks;
- Memory cards (CF,SD,MemoryStick,etc) used in cameras, telephones, games consoles, recorders, PDAs, navigators
- Media centre/TIVO/Video recorder
- MP3 Players
- CDs, DVDs, Games
- Recoded media - tapes,CDs,DVDs
- Internet Storage - Website, blog Flickr,Youtube etc
This is not an unusal list for the average family and the voulumes easily run in terrbytes!!! How much storage do you have and what is your solution for making sure that youdon't loose anything you want to keep?
